About the Artist

Welcome and thank you for visiting my new and improved website, showcasing both graphite pencil drawings and folk art Americana paintings.

I am Kevin Burchett, a southern artist born, raised and residing in Commerce, Georgia. I share my life with my wife Kristie, daughter Chloe, cats Jo and Fat Fred, and our Black Russian Terrier Max.

In 1987 I had the good fortune of meeting Mary George Poss a fellow artist from Rabun County, Georgia. She convinced me to print a few pencil drawings and thirty eight prints later I’m still going strong. I remain a self-published artist. My pencil drawings cover many areas including bulldogs, cats, architecture, and common country scenes. I sell a lot of bulldog prints, many issues are sold out; however, new editions are added every year. Munson Radio is a new edition in honor of the great Bulldog Broadcaster, Larry Munson and is available hand signed by Larry himself.

Drawing for me is art in its raw form. It’s not only a technical challenge but a time consuming piece to complete. It’s also a lot of fun to see what a pencil can do.

The colorful side of me as an artist has opened a door to paint folk art. It is fun, colorful, and comes straight from the heart of the artist. It’s creation at its finest. My folk art paintings are based on stories my grandparents told me and embellished with a lot of imagination. I have painted folk art for years but this is the first time I’ve shared them in print.

Thanks again for your time. I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I do and enjoy the website.

Sincerely,
Kevin Burchett
